Drosophilia melanogaster will reach a max size of 2.5mm and are an ideal prey item for small amphibians such as Ranitomeya and Mantellas, small invertebrates and other small reptiles.

The culture will continue to produce new flies for several weeks and should be kept at normal room temperature. Warmer temperatures will speed up development but may shorten the lifespan of the culture. They might have adult flies in the culture when delivered but often they don’t, new flies will emerge given time.
