Description
All the items in this habitat are carefully chosen to maximise the welfare of your new pet. We have used our extensive experience with the products and with the species to select items that work efficiently while ensuring that cost is kept as low as possible; everything that you need is here in this comprehensive, entry level bearded dragon setup.
The large vivarium allows your dragon plenty of space to move and be comfortable, with the maximum floor space so that baby dragons can burn off excess energy and adult dragons can stretch out without feeling cramped. There is enough height for a basking platform or a sturdy branch, and the open space provides lots of scope for imaginative decoration.
Your dragon needs their own personal patch of sunlight to warm themselves up in, and the incandescent bulb that comes with this setup does the job more than adequately. It will easily reach the 45°C basking temperature that your dragon needs for optimum health. Striking a balance between price, longevity and effectiveness this product will keep your dragon basking and happy!
Safety with heat lamps is paramount, and the lamp holder in this setup is a solid, reliable unit that will give you years of trouble free service. The ceramic holder itself is heat resistant and rated for up to 200 watts, with the E27 screw fitting ensuring compatibility with a wide range of commonly available vivarium heat lamps. It also features a unique 180 degree rotating bracket which allows ultimate flexibility, and precision aiming of your bulb in order to create a basking hotspot anywhere you would want to put it. It also has an in line on/off switch, and a heat resistant cable.
As well as heat and visible light your dragon needs a supply of UV light to stay healthy. This fluorescent tube provides full spectrum visible light as well as a strong source of UVB necessary for your dragon to metabolise the calcium in their diet, reaching levels that will provide Ferguson Zone 3. Perfect for your bearded dragon, this tube needs to be replaced yearly in order to guarantee that your pet is receiving the correct amount of UVB to keep them healthy.
In order to control your hot spot, the dimming thermostat is specifically designed to regulate the temperature of heat lamps. Once set to the required temperature, it dims the bulb when the sensor probe detects that the temperature has been reached. This ensures that your dragon won’t overheat, as well as prolonging the life of your bulb.
One of the most important items of equipment in all of reptile keeping is the digital thermometer! The thermometer that we include with this habitat is reliable, robust and with two probes it’s possible to monitor both the cool and warm ends of the vivarium at the same time. We have been using these units for years now, both in store and personally – and we think that they are just right for keeping track of the temperatures in your pets’ enclosure.
