Our Silver Bearded Dragon setup uses a large vivarium that is suitable for a juvenile or adult bearded dragon and the best equipment for heating and lighting. This is our most cost effective bearded dragon vivarium setup and is perfect for a warm home (minimum night temperature 18-20c). We use a large vivarium that is suitable for a juvenile or adult bearded dragon. High quality UVB light that will provide the Fergusson Zone 3 (2.9 to 7.4 UVI) that your bearded dragon needs to thrive. Please note that as with all quality UVB lights the tube will need to be replaced after 12 months use as the UVB output will degrade over time.Â
We use a basking light for day time heating and this is controlled by a dimming thermostat to keep the temperature in the correct range and for energy efficiency. This works by reducing the percentage of power going to the basking light, so it only runs at 100% power when it is necessary.Â
This will allow us to provide a day time temperature of 45c in the basking area and 28-30c in the coolest area. This is switched off at night and can be used with a timer switch (not included).Â
We have tested this thoroughly over the years and have many happy bearded dragons living in these vivarium setups. Â
