It’s very important to offer freshly frozen rats that haven’t been stored for too long. The rodents we supply have been frozen immediately after humane euthanasia, so when defrosted give the healthiest possible diet for your reptile pet. Defrosted frozen rodents and chicks can be offered to snakes, some lizards, and as an occasional treat to some larger amphibians.
We understand the importance of frozen foods arriving frozen so we use special cardboard boxes (better for the environment than polystyrene), insulating paper wrapping, ice packs and a speedy reliable courier to ensure that your frozen snake foods arrive frozen and in great condition.
Read our snake feeding guide that we use to help train our reptile care team, it covers how to choose the appropriate food, size of food to use, how to defrost and how to offer the food to the snake.
