A Complete Diet for Breeding Geckos and Growing Babies
This formula provides a balanced, insect‑rich diet designed to support breeding geckos and developing juveniles. The main sources of fat and protein come from crickets and black soldier fly larvae, creating a highly palatable food that most geckos readily accept. A blend of banana and apricot adds natural flavour and encourages a strong feeding response.
The higher fat content helps maintain consistent egg production throughout the breeding season, while the calcium level sits near the maximum recommended level for a complete diet. If your females show signs of calcium depletion, you can safely add a small amount of plain calcium to the mix or offer a separate dish for them to lick as needed.
For best results, offer fresh food at least every other day during the breeding season. Smaller, more frequent meals are ideal for breeders and help prevent gorging. Live, dusted insects are optional but can be offered once or twice a week for enrichment and variety.
Although this formula is designed for breeders, it can also be fed to geckos of all life stages, and early results show promising growth benefits.
