Originating from North America, Lava corn snakes are ideal household pets. Their calm nature, reluctance to bite and low maintenance requirements make them perfect for first-time snake owners as well as experienced owners.

It is recommended that Lava corn snakes be kept in wooden vivariums due to their ability to stay insulated. We also recommend keeping them in 36-inch vivariums as they are likely to grow large in length.

Young snakes should be fed one defrosted mouse on a weekly basis. Once Lava corn snakes have reached adulthood, you can then start to feed them larger mice on a fortnightly basis.

You should also provide your snake fresh water every day in a large bowl, allowing the snake to climb in and out of.
