Heaters

Heating is one of the most important aspects of reptile care. Different heaters suit different animals and vivariums.
Heat mats are good for small to medium sized reptiles that require a low background heat, such as Leopard geckos and Corn snakes.
Ceramic heaters are excellent in medium and large vivariums, these create a more natural environment as they heat from above, ideal for larger snakes and lizards, such as Royal Pythons and Bearded Dragons.
Reptile Radiators are great for heating medium sized vivariums, for animals such as Corn snakes and Rankins Dragons. They have all the advantages of the ceramic heaters but they take up less space.
It is recommended that a thermostat is used with all heaters to prevent overheating. Ceramic heaters and reptile radiators need to be used with a guard to prevent injury to the animal.
