A proper hiding area is an often-underestimated feature of a natural terrarium. Without a safe spot to hide and sleep reptiles and amphibians will easily develop stress that will effect their activity and appetite. Hide-outs often also provide a shelter or a cooler area in the terrarium.

I've got 2 of these, one in the hot end, and one in the cold end of my corn snake viv - and they're perfect. Nice and low profile, so the snakes feel like they are under a rock, but wide enough to fit 2 adult corns in quite confortably!

Nice and heavy too, so they don't get moved around when they decide to burrow under them.

Combined with some of the plastic plants, draped over the top, can look really nice.
