Recommended as an ideal starter kit for corns.

The vivarium arrived assembled and very well packaged. It is sturdy, well built and should last a long time. The thermostat is easy to use although the only downside is that it is only able to operate at one temperature; if you want a day/night temperature cycle then you will have to manually adjust the thermostat or upgrade to the Lucky Reptile 'Pro' thermostat.

The heat mat is more than adequate for heating the viv alone so there were no problems maintaining a suitable temperature. A simple light fitting is supplied however the one I got has no screw holes or fittings to fix it to the viv. I managed to improvise using the supplied guard.

Included was 10 litres of orchid bark which is quite moist and I believe is more suited to woodland / rainforest set ups. I did a test run and ended up with over 95% humidity which is far too high for a corn snake; the vivarium was soaking wet inside. I replaced with aspen which is a commonly used substrate for corns and the humidity fell to around 40%. I guess the orchid bark would be ok if allowed to dry out or baked in the oven but in my case I would end up setting fire to the kitchen.

Overall this is a good quality corn snake set up especially for a beginner as it has almost everything you need. Just make sure that the orchid bark does not make the viv too humid
